How We Test & Rate Forex Brokers
Our rankings are built on a transparent, data-driven score — never on paid placements.
Our six scoring factors
Every broker is scored 0–100 across six weighted factors. The overall star rating is the blended result:
- Regulation & safety (25%) — licence tier (FCA/ASIC/CySEC vs offshore), segregation of client funds, investor protection.
- Trading costs (25%) — typical spreads plus commission, measured against the live market, not marketing claims.
- Platforms & tools (15%) — MT4/MT5/cTrader availability, execution speed, charting and automation.
- Instruments & range (15%) — forex pairs, CFDs, metals, crypto and other asset coverage.
- Customer support (10%) — channels, hours, languages and response quality we test ourselves.
- Trust & reputation (10%) — Trustpilot score, history and verified user feedback.
Where the data comes from
We combine four sources: official regulatory registers, each broker’s published spec sheet, our own funded-account testing, and aggregated user reviews. When a broker updates its terms we re-pull the spec sheet before the next ranking cycle.
How often we update
Scores are reviewed every quarter. Any regulatory action, licence change or major spread move triggers an immediate re-check of that broker.
Independence
Affiliate commissions pay for the site, but a broker cannot buy a higher score or a higher rank. Where we show a “Visit Site” button, the link is tagged for attribution only.
